We welcome your son to Orientation Day.
Tuesday 15 October 2024
As part of Orientation Day, we conduct two small tests with incoming Year 7 students. The tests are PAT (Progressive Achievement Test) Numeracy and PAT Writing and help to provide a learning “snapshot” at that particular time. The results are used to identify where a student may be a candidate for learning extension, identify any common learning gaps or, so that resources in the learning enhancement area may be enacted without a delay at the beginning of the year.
The testing will only comprise a small part of the students’ entire day and should not be viewed with any sense of anxiety by the student or parent. There is no preparation required other than they should have a water bottle with them. The tests are administered online and computers are provided.
