Transport
We are ideally located in Ipswich, just 25 minutes from Brisbane’s western suburbs and as one of Queensland’s first schools, our proud heritage is only matched by our progressive outlook, welcoming boys from near and far.
Ipswich Grammar School is located in Darling Street, Ipswich. We are 10 minutes drive from the Motorway and 45 minutes from the international and domestic airports. Public transport is also easily accessible with our campus, only an eleven minute walk from Ipswich Railway Station, and public buses also run regularly.
We operate daily private bus services for students of Ipswich Grammar and Ipswich Girls' Grammar within Ipswich and the western suburbs of Brisbane as far north as Indooroopilly, east to Sunnybank Hills, and south to Greenbank and Springfield. Responsive to our growing community, additional bus routes are added as the need arises.
Buses depart from Ipswich Grammar from 3.05pm with additional services available for students staying late for sport, cultural activities and study.
Bus passes are available on a full, half and casual basis.
Casual passes are available to students who are not regular travellers on the charter bus services. A maximum of 10 passes per term will be issued to a student. Casual passes are charged at $10 per pass and will be billed to the parent account. Additional passes will not be issued, students will need to move to a Half Fare Pass should they require greater than 10 passes in any one term. A Charter Bus Application form will be required to be submitted for the issuance of a TranportMe bus pass and to maintain a record for student safety. Students are required to tap on and tap off for every trip.
Half fare passes are issued to students who are regular travellers on the charter bus service and who travel between 1-5 trips per week. The pass rates are determined by the start point/destination and are located under Chartered Bus Fares. Students are required to tap on and tap off with their TransportMe bus pass for student safety and reporting. Half fare passes are not transferable and trips do not roll over. Should a student exceed 5 trips per week contact will be made to discuss transferring to a full fare pass.
Full fare passes are issued to students who are regular travellers on the charter bus service travelling between 6-10 trips per week. Pass rates are determined by the start point/destination and are located under Chartered Bus Fares. Students are required to tap on and tap off with their TransportMe bus pass for student safety and reporting.
