Parking/Drop-off
Parking will be available on the top oval (via Darling Street entrance) on the first day of school. Following the first day of school, you may continue to walk your son to his class after parking on the surrounding streets or you may choose to use one of the drop-off zones where staff greet the boys each morning.
Drop-off zones
In the morning, you may drop your son/s at one of our two drop-off zones - on Waghorn Street and Woodend Road. Both these zones are fully supervised from 8am each morning.
Pick-up zones
While you may park and walk in to collect your son, many parents make use of the pick-up zones for convenience.
If your son is in Prep or Year 1, he will be escorted to the pick-up zone on Waghorn Street and will meet any older siblings at this point to be picked up.
Please note this area of Waghorn Street has a 2-minute loading zone which is enforced by Ipswich City Council. Prior to and immediately after 3pm, this area is very congested with traffic from multiple schools however after 3.10pm the traffic has generally subsided, and it is much easier to navigate pick-up within a 2-minute timeframe.
If you have a son in Year 2 to Year 6 (and no younger sons), your son will be directed to the front of the Auditorium. You will then enter the campus in your vehicle via the Darling Street driveway and proceed through the roundabout to the pick-up zone at the front door of the Auditorium before exiting back out onto Darling Street.
The pick-up zones are fully supervised until 3:30pm each day at which time any remaining boys are escorted to OSHClub.
Prep Parents
Immediately after the bell rings for their first day of school to start, you are invited to the Junior School Library to join Headmaster Richard Morrison and Head of Junior School Ben Gates for morning tea to commemorate the beginning of your son's IGS journey.
Before and After School Care
OSHClub will be open from Monday with normal operating hours (6:15am to 8:00am then 3:00pm to 6:00pm). For further information and to make a booking visit the OSHClub website or call them direct on 0417 164 236.
