OP1 Recipients 2015

Ten hard-working graduates of 2015 achieved an OP1 across the grade and 14 boys achieved either an OP2 or OP3. A whopping 85% of the grade achieved an OP 1-10 while the entire class of 2015 at IGS received a Queensland Certificate of Education.
The result comes after a two-year focus on academic outcomes.
"Over the past two years, Ipswich Grammar School has implemented a whole school focus on improving the academic outcomes for every student," Deputy Headmaster Tony Dosen said.
"A targeted focus on pathway options for each boy through the senior phase of learning and a continued focus on improving Year 12 OP results have continued to reap outstanding results. In order to succeed this students have demonstrated the following capabilities: they are focused, committed, and adaptable, and above all balanced.All of these students took part in an array of extra-curricular activities and played and participated in a range of sports in a range of seasons from swimming, volleyball, rugby, basketball athletics they balance their school life with their academics.”
It is with great pleasure that we introduce to you the 10 OP 1 recipients for 2015:
Joint winner of the Bowen Prize for Dux Hayden Randall is studying medicine and will be completing a Bachelor of Advance Science at University of Sydney. Hayden also received the Chancellors’ scholarship.
Joint winner of the Bowen Prize for Dux Alexander Leathem is now studying a Bachelor of Medical Science at Griffith University.
Both Hayden and Alexander have been recognised among Queensland’s top performing students for outstanding academic achievement in their senior school studies and will receive The QCE Achievement Award.
Riley Mulheron is now studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at QUT and received a Vice Chancellor Scholarship.
Ricky Nguyen is studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at University of Queensland.
Nicholas Piper is studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Economics at University of Queensland.
Marcus Poniewierski is studying a Bachelor of Business (Dean’s Honours Program) at QUT and was awarded a Vice Chancellors Scholarship.
Oliver Pye is studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)/Bachelor of Science at QUT and was awarded a Vice Chancellors Scholarship at QUT.
Jacob Sanderson is studying a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours) at University of Queensland.
Alistair Snow is studying a Bachelor of Advanced Finance and Economics (Honours) at University of Queensland.
Patrick Wilson is now studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at QUT and was awarded a Vice Chancellors Scholarship at QUT.
We wish Class 152 the best for 2016 and look forward to following the success of the whole cohort as they start the next chapter.
