Football

Ipswich Grammar School has been involved in GPS competition since its inception in 1990. Football is growing substantially and has up to four teams in each age group. IGS Football competes at Brassall Sporting Complex, one of the premier venues in the GPS competition.

Ipswich Grammar has been relatively successful in football and has claimed many premierships along the way. The school also competes in various knock out competitions such as the ISSA Cup, Bill Turner Cup and Uhlsport Cup.

IGS has a close bond with the Queensland Roar and many students have the opportunity to get coaching during their physical education classes. Futsal is also offered in preparation for the GPS season. Committed coaches and continued support from Friends of IGS mean football is building a strong tradition as one of the premier sports at the school.
