Ipswich Grammar School will celebrate its 150th anniversary in 2013. The Headmaster, Board of Trustees and 150 Committee are busy finalising plans to host a gala dinner, book launch and community day in celebration of Queensland's first secondary school.
Historian Sophie Church is writing a commemorative book on the school with the support of past and present students, staff and Friends of IGS. The book will be a comprehensive, insightful and scholarly account of Ipswich Grammar.
Research is well underway, and we are keen to hear from Old Boys, former teachers and other people with connections to the school who would like to contribute their memories or archival materials.
Photographs, documents, books, personal papers, oral histories and memoirs are vital in establishing an accurate record of the school's history. If you would like to join in these significant celebrations and are willing to contribute to the book, we would be delighted to hear from you. All photographs and documents will be scanned and returned to the owner.
