Ipswich Grammar School is a spirited competitor in the GPS tennis competition. The IGS Tennis program, noted for its excellence in skills development, received a professional boost in 2003 with the introduction of a tennis clinic run by expert coach, David Glinster.

The professionalism of the IGS Tennis program will be further enhanced with a proposed 8 court tennis centre opening at the school in 2008. This will enable a larger number of talented boys to participate in the sport. The program runs during the school day with training sessions before and after school. An Excellence in Sport course also enables players to access specialised coaching through the School’s Physical Education curriculum.

IGS Tennis organises tours to various tournaments throughout the State, to give students as much on court experience, playing at a top, competitive level.

IGS has a fine tradition of sportsmanship on and off the courts and it is an institution we are very proud of. With the new addition of world class tennis facilities at Ipswich Grammar School, boys will achieve even greater results on the court.
