Ipswich Grammar School boasts a proud tradition of excellence in the sport of Cricket. Ipswich Grammar have been competing in the GPS competition for well over 100 years. IGS has been a nursery for many fine cricketers. Two old boys, Craig McDermott and Shane Watson, have worn the baggy green cap. Numerous old boys have represented Queensland at open and under age levels. Currently Ipswich Grammar has numerous recent old boys playing first grade in the Brisbane QCA competition.
Currently the Ipswich Grammar Cricket Program is second to none winning three out the last four premierships. The Cricket Program is a multi-tiered in nature with students of all playing levels being catered for, and reaching their given potential.
