For a number of years Ipswich Grammar has been encouraging students to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, with much success
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award gives young people the chance to express their interest in a wide range of fields including: skill development, community service, physical recreation and adventurous activities. The Award focuses a young person’s interest and is particularly well received by employers in many fields.
Participating in the Bridge Award and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award promotes the development of leadership skills, a sense of adventure, building self-confidence and a sense of achievement. Young people between the ages of 14 and 25 are given the opportunity to make new friends both in Australia and their own award community, as well as abroad with the opportunity to participate in exchanges and overseas events.
